Experience
James I. Humphrey, Jr. is chairman and majority owner of The Humphrey Companies, a group of full service real estate firms. These firms develop, build, own and manage income producing projects in the eight state Mid-Atlantic Region and Florida. He is the founder and former chairman of the Board of Directors of Humphrey Hospitality Trust, Inc., now trading as Supertel Hospitality Inc., a real estate investment trust which owns over 100 hotels in nineteen states and is traded on the NASDAQ exchange.
Mr. Humphrey has served on the Credit Assurance Committee of the Maryland Housing Fund. He has served on the Governor's Housing Task Force, the Housing Policy Commission of the Dept. of Housing and Community Development and the Maryland International Division Private Sector Advisory Council. He was the initial president of the Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition.
Bethany H. Hooper, CPA - Senior Vice President & Group CFO
Education
Received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Lewis and Clark College in 1986 and an M.B.A. degree in Finance from Loyola College in 1991.
Experience
Ms. Hooper has been with the Humphrey group since 1988. Prior to joining Humphrey she worked for the accounting firm of Reznick, Fedder, and Silverman. Currently, she supervises the company's financial and administrative functions including the development, monitoring and control of accounting systems.
Timothy P. Barila - Vice President of Development
Education
Received a B.B.A. degree in Management from the College of Business at James Madison University in 1983 and an M.B.A. degree in Real Estate and Urban Development from Kogod College of Business Administration at the American University in 1987.
Experience
Mr. Barila joined Humphrey Associates in January, 1984; his primary responsibility is to manage the overall development process including financing of various projects such as multi-family housing, for-sale housing, and lodging facilities.
J. Ryan Humphrey - Vice President of Development
Education
Received a B.A. degree with honors in Economics from Brown University in 2001 and graduated first overall with an M.B.A. degree in Marketing from Loyola in 2006.
Experience
Mr. Humphrey joined the Humphrey group in 2004; his primary responsibility is to manage the overall development process including land acquisition, financing, entitlement, and marketing. His project experience includes over 550 residential lots spread across the Baltimore metropolitan area.
